Doug Horton

President and CEO

Doug Horton is the President and CEO and founded Handshake Software, Inc. in 2000. Previously, he was CEO of MeltingPoint Ltd. U.K. and MeltingPoint Inc., a venture-capital backed company, where he led the expansion of the product line and major sales success to W.H. Smith and others. He also served as COO/President of CMS/Data (now ADERANT), where he created a turn-around strategy and, in three years, led the company to an increase in revenues in excess of 500% and record profits through expansion into six new vertical markets and 14 new countries.

He has extensive consulting experience including years with Altman & Weil and Price Waterhouse where he consulted to law firms and corporate legal departments on matters including business strategy, marketing, technology and profitability. Doug has spoken at international, national, and regional business and technology conferences in the U.S., Canada, and the United Kingdom including LegalTech, ILTA National Conference, ILTA SharePoint Symposium, ALA Annual Conference, ABA Techshow, Microsoft SharePoint Conference and many others. He has published articles in the ABA Journal, Legal Management and many other legal publications as well as being a contributing author to several books on legal technology.

Glenn LaForce

Glenn LaForce

Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer

Glenn LaForce is the Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.   He is responsible for Handshake Software's overall company strategy and the sales & marketing divisions. Prior to joining Handshake Glenn spent 12 years at LexisNexis where he headed new business sales for the eastern United States.  He also previously served as the primary relationship manager for many of the AmLaw 200 firms.

Glenn began his career at The Baseball Factory where he handled sales, scouted & marketed high school baseball players to college & professional teams. He is a graduate of Salisbury University in Maryland where he concentrated on business & history and is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Tom Mannion

Chief Financial Officer

Tom Mannion is the Chief Financial Officer of Handshake Software.

He joined Handshake in early 2014 after previously serving as the CFO in several large Private Equity owned companies, including Edwards Fine Foods and Wise Snacks.  Tom also was part of TCI Contracting LLC serving on the senior management team with responsibilities for financial and accounting activities, strategic planning, merger and acquisitions, and lender/investor relationships.  From 1984 to 1997, he worked for the Kellogg Company in a variety of accounting, finance, manufacturing and marketing roles, culminating in 1996 with an assignment as CFO of Kellogg Canada Inc.  Tom received his B.S. in Accounting from Illinois State University in 1979 and passed the CPA examination the same year.  He can be reached at


Don Waldo

Don Waldo

Chief Technology Officer

Don Waldo is the Chief Technology Officer and leads the company's technology direction. For the last 25 years, he has developed solutions for customers in professional services organizations. Don has primarily worked in software start-ups and has been immersed in the information technology and computer world since building his first microcomputer in the 1970s.

At CMS/Data, Don Waldo led the product development efforts with a focus on the toolkit, reporting, and customization architecture for CMS OPEN, a large scale professional services financial management system. Don was a principal developer on the team that created PC DOCS, the product that defined the document management segment in the early 1990s. He is a graduate of Princeton University. Mark Webb

Mark Webb

VP of Product Development

Mark Webb is the Vice President of Product Development and is responsible for management of product planning, software development processes, and execution of development strategies. He has worked for Handshake Software for the past 11 years and has 21 years’ experience as a developer and consultant in the large Legal vertical market, working directly with over 50 AmLaw 200 firms.

Prior to Handshake Software, Mark was a key member of the CMS OPEN (now Aderant) time and billing team. He began his career implementing accounting and property systems and methodologies for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He is a graduate of Florida State University, and is a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. He can be reached at
